Happy Birthday to John Cusack. I think he's a great actor. "Being John Malkovich" and "High Fidelity" are my favorites Cusack films. "Serendipity" is also gets honorable mention.

Melanie, I heard Terry Gross interview him at the time "High Fidelity" was released... I had just read the book and was excited about the film. After hearing the interview, I knew he was an actor that I would always go to see.

My daughter actually auditioned for some small part in that movie, and didn't get it. She was much younger then. She' s not in show business any more. The auditions were in NC. She always did better in NYC.
