Stanley , thank you for information about Edyie. I was concerned about her health. My husband retired twice once at 65 , then at 75. He is 83 also, their birthdays are about 10 days a part.

I'm not suprised Johnny Carson was a fan - she has just about the most perfect pop singing voice you can imagine. It really is an incredible voice.

As for Eydie's health, she said on her website in September that she was feeling much better "I feel pumped" I think she wrote. And Nancy said she spoke to her a few posts back, so let's hope she is ok.

Her's is a voice that should be treasured. It would be great if the lady could do some more recording. In fact, in the 2003 Larry King interview Eydie herself says her voice was better than ever!

PS: I watched an episode of Frasier this evening and I noticed on the end credits that Steve and Eydie were the quest voices on Frasier's radio programme!

I have a great CD--Steve & Edyie, Carol Burnett,. and Sammy Davis. I keep it in the car as my driver (Pete) enjoys listening to it.

The bassist in our band is Steve Lawrence's favorite bassist. He says Eydie has bad knees/legs and while she misses touring because of her fans, she really was in terrible pain. Jack adores both of them saying they are extremely generous, "in the Sinatra tradition". His very words.

Of all the "Duet's" duets, there is none greater, IMO, than "Where Or When?" Some as great, but nothing greater!!

Rick: Thanks for the update on Eydie. Such a shame for her not to be able to perform because of knee trouble, after a lifetime in the spotlight it must be very sad for her.

And I agree, Where or When is a highlight from the Duets albums. I always loved that arrangement, and Steve and Eydie obviously worked very hard on their vocal arrangement and so perfectly weave around Mr Sinatra's vocals.

Once again, Eydie's voice sparkles. Like Sinatra, she has a soft vibrato and such a clear sound.

It is great "there it goes, it's happening again". Love that.

Mr. Lawrence was a guest star on the terrific new TV show Awake Thursday night. He played the "confidential informant" of the lead character, Detective Michael Britten. It was great to see him. He looks wonderful and did a great job. I hope he becomes a regular on the show if it's picked up for a slot in NBC's fall lineup.

Stevie is a fine dramatic actor, whose acting appearances have been very few and far between. 'Though it was a musical, "What Makes Sammy Run?", beautifully showcased both his singing and acting talents! Hope you're right, Dina!
