Thanks Nick - being an East London boy I should have known that one!
Well, 'Irish' or not, if my Barnet looks that good at 85 I'll be a happy man.

The east end of Barbara Windsor and gangland violence is sadly all gone, except in the mockney minds of Jamie Oliver and that bloke who married Madonna! If im still breathing at 85 Id be amazed, let alone as energetic as Tony.

Jamie who?
The real history of London lies in the East, where old school rules applied and the "gangsters" actually protected their community and helped people in need which some people don't realise.
I've been to Chingford cemetery to pay my respects.

5 Tony Bennett albums for a tenner from Sony-Columbia if the big box is too much of a leap. I think these have all been issued on CD before however http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005TOTTUY/ref=s9_simh_gw_p15_d0_g15_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OL E&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0MVXRS78KQXZE6MWB56C&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p =467128533&pf_rd_i=468294

Interesting, Nick. It's not (yet) been announced for the US market.

BTW, you can chop all that tracking stuff after the ASIN code off of the Amazon link.
This is much neater: http://amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005TOTTUY

Here's an interview with Tony that appeared in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

And, here are some photos from his sold-out show in Atlanta on 11-25. (I wish I could have gone, but I just couldn't swing the ticket price....sadly though, I may not ever have another chance to see him.) Sounds like it was a fantastic show.

Thats his 3rd visit here this year! Not sure I'll get tickets for that as he wont be on long, but I wonder if he'll fit another show in somewhere else? He did that (exclusive) gig at Ronnie Scotts the day after the Palladium so you never know. Still, as Im working my way through the 75 disc set I may be all Tony-ed out by then!

Not possible!!

I wouldn't be able to get to Manchester either but imagine if he did another Ronnie Scott's gig, I'd pay anything to see him there again.

That was half the problem last time, the tickets were unbuyable, strictly invite only.

Come to think of it, the Royal Variety Show is usually on TV. I've avoided it for years due to the dirth of talent on them (Ant and Dec, those Irish twins, Jimmy Saville erm etc) but may be worth a recording and fastforward to the good bit.

Thanks to Skyplus I could skip the previous 2 hours and just catch Tony. I thought he looked tired today, but did a cracking rendition of How Do You Keep the Music Playing.

Typical they kept the best till last, those variety shows can be a bit repetitive although I enjoyed those two chaps on those poles, man they must be strong, very good.

I wish Tony would sing with a full big band now and again though.

The travelling costs might prohibit that, a team-up with Frankie who always uses one would be ideal. On the new "Complete" boxset there's a DVD from 1972 with Tony at the Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic, a truly vast orchestra which he still dominates nicely.
