I just had a real listen, and Wow! I love it! Where can we get AJ's EP?

Oops, I just realized we can get it thru her myspace page. And I definitely will. Her music is very Gui Boratto/Corte dei Miracoli-esque. Fantastic.

I listened to AJ's music for the first time and all the songs were excellent! I really liked Equivacation the best and I also liked Your Nearest Exit.

Here is AJ's response to me after she saw your comments:

that is great!! really makes me happy. thank you for forwarding.

just to let you know, i am at this very moment putting the entire ep up for sale on myspace, and then within a month or 6 weeks it'll be on itunes worldwide + rhapsody & napster. finally, eh? decided to just do it myself, this label business is for the birds.

you can also tell them i play bass in looker if you want! myspace.com/looker

    and my myspace is myspace.com/lambertaj

coming soon (tonight?) - the ep side 2 myspace site (for the film)......

if you want you can just cut and paste this into the thread......thanks!!!!

    i love you.

So there it is, cut and pasted.

Thumbs up All In The Family

How exciting it must be for you, Nancy, to have your daughter in the same business carrying on the Sinatra and Lambert name to new generations. It must be nerve wracking in some respects because you know the foibles and uncertainties that accompany the music world along with the highs and the successes, but just A.J.'s statement that "label business is for the birds", shows that she is independent and clear eyed and she will be a success, on her own terms.
    Go, A.J.!!

    i love it!

the man i work for (adam curry) talks a lot about our company's role as an "un-label"

recording and distribution are now things that artists can easily and inexpensively do for themselves - promotion is a bit more of a challenge though, and podcasting can help artists find their audience

to paraphrase john belushi "we don't need no stinkin' labels!"

looker's music is already available on itunes - kind of ramones sounding...kind of clash...kind of 60s girl group

startlingly different from aj's solo work - but great if you're in a rock'n'roll mood

Perhaps five or six years ago, she was on the cover of People with her bass. I just went to look for it amongst my mementos, and I'm so disorganized I can't locate it.

    Brian, I'm confused as hell

On dialup I'm attempting to listen to your link. It starts off with a guy trying to blow my mind with platitudinous babble, followed by a guy with a marginal voice banging on a guitar singing something about being a freak.

I'm persevering for A.J.'s track, but I can't locate it.

sorry about that - on dialup it's a little rough - and the noezone is a weird show anyway

aj's song is the third one in - but you can hear her quicker on her myspace page

    the platitudinous babble is tongue-in-cheek

that's why there's the alarm at the end signaling that we need to wake up
