Another Sinatra Quiz

Here are some questions for Frank Fans.

What is the only song Sinatra recorded in the studio three times on the same label with three different arrangers?

In what movie did Frank play a priest? (too easy)

In how many movies did Frank play a policeman or detective? Name them.

In how many movies was he a member of the military including two where he was recently discharged. Name them.

What are the four movies in which both Frank Sinatra and Shirley MacLaine appeared?

Who wrote (composer and lyricist) the last song Frank Sinatra recorded for Capitol?

Before he founded Reprise Records, Frank was negotiating to buy a major record label which still exists. Which label was it?

Frank returned to the New York Paramount Theater in the 1950's to promote what movie?

According to "Billboard," what song have more people requested that Frank sing than any other?

I won't be greedy. I'll answer just the first one:

What is the only song Sinatra recorded in the studio three times on the same label with three different arrangers?
There were TWO. (Do I get extra credit? )

Mouse over for answer 1: "Day In—Day Out" on Capitol (Axel Stordahl, Nelson Riddle, Billy May) .

Mouse over for answer 2: "All Or Nothing At All" on Reprise (Don Costa, Nelson Riddle, Joe Beck) .

I won one of these contests once. The prize was dinner with Nancy....never got it so I'll pass. Although, rest assured, I know all of the answers.

Type the following codes before and after the hidden text:
Place any desired hidden text here.
The word "spoiler" may be upper or lower-case, but the brackets (and slash before the second occurrence) must be EXACTLY as shown, with no extra adjacent spaces.

If you do it right, you should get the following display effect:

Place any desired hidden text here. <— Mouse over to see the hidden text

There are actually five...

Some Came Running
Ocean's Eleven
Can Can
Cannonball Run 2
and
Around The World In Eighty Days.

I'll attempt this one.

From Here To Eternity
Anchors Aweigh
Manchurian Candidate
Never So Few
Von Ryan's Express
Kings Go Forth
On The Town
None But The Brave
Sergeants 3
Some Came Running

I suppose The Pride & The Passion could be considered a military role of a fashion and Ocean's Eleven doesn't really address just how long ago Frank's military service ended, though I doubt it could be considered a recent discharge on reflection.

Ooops, I missed Canonball Run 2. Never saw it but should have known.

I had as "recently discharged": It Happened in Brooklyn (he had just gotten out of the Army) and Some Came Running. I did not consider Ocean's Eleven since the movie took place in about 1960 and WWII ended in 45, or The Pride and the Passion. I also counted his cameo in Cast a Giant Shadow in which, I think, he was a military volunteer.
The rest are on the money.

Edwin Queries:

I’m going to go way out on a limb and go with “The House I live In” written by Earl Robinson& Abel Meeropol (Lewis Allen)
Duet with Neil Diamond

Thanks Bob and Rick for the “Code” info

Bob, I don't think I've heard Don Costa's arrangement of "All or Nothing At All". I most likley have but can't remember it. What album is it from?

Don Costa's "All Or Nothing At All" is from Sinatra & Strings.

The Riddle chart is from Strangers In The Night. The Joe Beck chart, well, the less said about that one the better (c.f. Groovy Sinatra).

The movie was The Miracle Of The Bells.

Before he founded Reprise Records, Frank was negotiating to buy a major record label which still exists. Which label was it?
It was Verve Records but I believe MGM bought the label instead.
