Just where is Backslash, anyway?
Boy, do I wish Sirius would fix that "Theme From \" caption. |

Uh, oh. A Paul Anka anecdote...
(Paul was sorry he didn't keep "My Way" for himself. Right. )

Cousin Brucie is pretty good with his song trivia. He knew (1) Anka only wrote the English lyrics to what was originally a French tune (Comme d'Habitude), and (2) "Strangers In The Night" came from the 1966 James Garner movie, A Man Could Get Killed.

It was a nice show today... he played mostly "hit" songs like... That's Life, Strangers In The Night and Somethin' Stupid.

I thought Michael Feinstein might depart from the pattern of previous hosts, and he hasn't disappointed: He's starting out his show with an unreleased remote aircheck of "East Of The Sun (And West Of The Moon)" by the Tommy Dorsey band from September 14, 1940. It sounds absolutely fantastic!

I agree, Bob! Michael Feinstein is already my favorite host and it's only been 20 minutes. That RKO disc that contains alternates of Some Other Time sounds interesting.

I think that's the version from Frank Sinatra In Hollywood, Allen. Michael Feinstein provided some of the discs for that set and wrote an appreciation piece for the book.

He played the take that was used in the movie... I meant it would have been nice to hear one of the alternates.

Fantastic show today... the best show by far! Every selection was well thought out... finally heard some songs from the '40s and hearing Michael talk about Frank was great... he would be an excellent guest for Nancy's show.

I tuned in when The House I Live In started to play... I missed East Of The Sun. Have to catch one of the replays so I can hear that radio aircheck.

Bob...thanks again for your ongoing lists of all the shows. Michael did a fantastic job, I really enjoyed him speaking. He comes close to Frankie, Jr. who must do one of the shows. I could listen to Frankie all day, he is such a pleasure. I love Nancy's show and all the tidbits that we get from listening to her and that sense of humor is fun also. I am so happy that I signed up for the program.
![]() I mentioned to the Johnny Mathis office about Siriusly Sinatra and how they are playing Johnny's music and they may mention it on their website. A little free publicity can't hurt!
