ANTONIO CARLOS JOBIM - 11 years of death

Rest in peace, Tom.
The world miss you.

Rio de Janeiro lost a piece of its wonders with your death.
In everyplace there's a piece of you with your songs and thoughts.

We'll never forget you.

But the music never dies.
It's forever.

A.C. Jobim (Tom)

Oh, do I miss Jobim...One of the greatest musical minds I've ever encountered. His music is absolutely majestic & Frank certainly recognized his talent. I sure wish he was still composing. I own alot of his albums and treasure them. What a fantastic man...I wonder how his family (wife Anna, etc. ) is doing.

Jobin is missed

Yes, Tom Jobim was a musical force that kept the Bossa Nova tempo alive....His album with Frank Sinatra is probably one of my favorites. Loved seeing them together on that special. What a team!!!

Even today's music has that Bossa Nova flavor..His music influenced so many.....jeane "Quite Nights"

Dear Tom

Everytime I hear or see the image of Tom Jobim, I realize what a vacuum he has left in the music world. A consumate musician, he played not only the guitar but the piano and flute. Who knows what other instruments he played.

I so love the duet he did with Frank Sinatra, "Girl From Ipanema." I love when he kinda looks up while singing. The chemistry between he and Frank was wonderful to watch. You could see the mutual admiration they had for each other. If you ever get a copy of his rendition of "Aquas de Marco" sung with Elis Regina, you are in for a real treat. His son, Paulo also has performed but I haven't seen anything lately. I think there is a version of a 1984 performance of his. Even Tom's grandson has done some performing too.

Jobim's music is always in my head....jeane

You know what? This is very funny because I very recently bought the Elis & Tom album for a ridiculous 4 dollars on a sale and only got around to listening to it today at work. It is a fantastic piece and I liked it so much I played the whole thing twice. Tom can only be heard singing on a couple of songs, but "Waters of March" alone is well worth the whole album. Two great and sensitive artists at their peak.
