Stuff from another source indicates causes. The case speaks volumes about the need to network and not feel so individually alone in whatever you're troubled about. Rest in peace, Mr. Cornelius.

Hopefully, estate settlement will be a tenable situation. He was separated from his present wife, having a child by his first decades ago.

I'm just imagining how tenable the Etta James estate settlement is, considering the civil differences between her sons and this otherwise unrelated partner who had power of attorney.

Yes, Phillyjohn. That's one of the reasons we have this website and try to keep it going.

God rest him. I loved the show and danced in the living room many a Saturday, with my hair in curlers. He was an icon to us!

Oh yes, Santa. Me too. Seems I remember rolling hair on juice cans to make it straighter. Would dance those right off my head. I will always associate Don Cornelius with good friends and happy times.

I am sorry for the Don Cornelius family, but most of all, that he felt he had no other way to change his life.

In my area, Soul Train aired after American Bandstand on Saturdays. I always watched both shows and loved singing and dancing along.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Cornelius, and thank you for the many hours of entertainment you gave us.

Well said...

I love Soul Train, and Don was obviously great. I was really surprised to hear the news initially - it upset me a bit. If the suicide reports are correct, hopefully he's at peace from whatever caused him to do it.

Seemed "strange" to have the 2011 Soul Train Awards on last evening!

I, too, grew up watching Mr. Cornelius on Saturdays. Cant put it any better than Mcknighty already has.

Wasn't aware of how he died until I read it here (I do not follow any mainstream parasit -- err mediot outlets) and I hope he is at peace now. [edit] Sir, and thank you.
