Eric Sykes
Source: YouTube One of the last of a plethora of talented post war British comics reared in the culture of Broadcasting House, a generation that included Peter Sellers, Jimmy Edwards, Willie Rushton and Spike Milligan. Personally very sad. |

End of an era
He was certainly a mainstay of British TV comedy when I was growing up - especially in the series with Hattie Jacques playing his sister (I think it was simply entitled, Sykes).

There goes another of the great British comedians or comic actors! I can't think of hardly any left now. Eric's sitcom with Hattie Jacques was always watched in our home. My mother used to love it and we all would sit around the tv and watch. Where has family viewing gone to?
