Awwwww. This is very sad. He was a wonderful actor and by all accounts, a genuine good-hearted man.

He and Ruby were quite a pair. Darn it, this is sad.

We'll miss you Ossie.

Oh how awful-- it wasn't that long ago that I watched He and Ruby Dee receive the Kennedy Center Honors. What a loss!

Yes, this is sad. I saw the same show, Sally, and it was good to watch them being honored.

What a terrific man. I loved his acting, especially in The Stand, as well as two of my favorite movies, Do The Right Thing and Jungle Fever. So sad. I think he we always be remembered for being a pioneer in bringing to the surface the pains of racial injustice.

I hated to hear about Mr. Davis on the news this afternoon. He was a fine actor, and will be missed.

Just heard on the news that they will dim the lights on Broadway tonight in Ossie's honor.

I mourn the loss of this fine gentleman....I remember him from disparate roles: with Burt Reynolds on "Midnight Shade" on television in the early 90's I think....and he was great in "Get On The Bus", a 2000 film about civil rights and different generations attitude towards it by Spike Lee.

Ossie Davis also participated on an LP album together with Frank Sinatra... on the 1976 childrens' record "Ali & His Gang Vs Mr Tooth Decay".
