Kitty Wells (at 92)

"It wasn't God who made honky tonk angels" was one of her most notable songs, I believe either 1952 or 53.

Kitty passed away in Nashville due to complications from a stroke.

She had the purity I listen for in a singer's voice. I love this part of the article, John.
Quote:
"We live in an age when people over-sing so much and put so much emphasis on the emotion. She showed sometimes it's more emotional by having restraint rather than trying to oversell it," said McCall.
Hopefully she is a real angel now.

In addition to her ground breaking career, she was a truly sweet lady.

When I was very young my mom would sing It Wasn't God Who Made Honkey Tonk Angels word for word without any music. She sounded just like her. Rest in Peace Kitty Wells you were a fine lady.
