Re-Opening Chez Frank to 2008

and unlocking the "Wrong Answer Is The Right Answer" room, with the question...

What was it that made the Joker Wild ?

The joker couln't stand it when someone was speaking while he was performing so he'd go nutso wild. That was funny and helped him sustain his nom de plume as The Joker. Batman was notorious for his talking while The Joker worked.

"Didn't We" almost make it...what was the "it"? For those of you keeping score at home, "Didn't We" is my tune of the moment. Frank's version just squeezes the emotions out of me.

Rick, Do you prefer the original "Didn't We" by FS as recorded for Reprise, or the version he sang in numerous later concert performances where he added "girl" to the lyric? ("Didn't we, girl?")

I love them both....typical Bob...not keeping up with the spirit of the thread...so I ask again...."Didn't We" almost make it...what was the "it"?

Typcal Rick...starting out the New Year grumpy as usual.

From dictionary.com, take your pick :

Quote:
75. make it,
a. Informal. to achieve a specific goal: to make it to the train; to make it through college.
b. Informal. to succeed in general: He'll never make it in business.
c. Slang. to have sexual intercourse.
Here's an example sentence for you:

When it comes to having dinner with Nancy, he'll never make it!

But the question was what is the "it"...not "make it"....can you see why you've had a bad review this year? No attention to detail.

You're right, Rick. Details just aren't my thing. And I didn't bother to read the rules here. Sorry. Perhaps someone else will supply the wrong answer.

And now Tina gets into the act, pointing out my spelling mistakes. I think I'll take my leave of the Forum this year.

I know what Rick would do without me: Save a lot of report and review writing.

The plot is a drawn out attempt by subversives from New England, one a brilliant computer techie type, the other a likeable bumbler, who try to have all Philadelphian's removed from the forum by illicit means. But the joke's on them as the brilliant computer techie is from Philadelphia and the bumbling, likeable youtuber's mentor also is from Philly.

What's to become of it?

The "it"refers to a playing card pyramid. They nearly made it but a rogue draft when the cat came in through the cat flap, made it collapse.

Alas...twas my dream, Sir Martin of Sore Subjects. It involved dinner with a certain female superstar who has requitedly stiffed me.

What really will happen If You Go Away?"
