Patsy's

This is not really a news item but I thought
you might like to meet the Scognamillo family.

It was a rainy, blustery night in New York in early
December and I couldn't get anybody to go out
to dinner with me so I raced over to Patsy's which
is a few blocks from my hotel, and picked up a
wonderful care package of yummies which I
enjoyed in the cozyness of my room. Mmmmm. I
wish I had some tonight.

Meet Sal, Joe, Rose and Frank. Wonderful restaurant, special
friends. Keepers of the flame.

I love this picture Nancy!!
I love the story how Patsy's stayed open just for your Dad(when they would actually have been closed otherwise). I guess it was during that low period when many of his so called friends had turned their backs on him.
When your Dad found out they stayed open just for him, He never forgot that.

when i get to new york, patsy's surely must be included in my programme. Frank not only spread the name of the city, but also did much for the economy (as far as pizza is included ;o)

Everyone at Patsy's must be great. Look what you did for Frank! Would he ever forget you? I hope the restaurant can have some of Frank's letters and emails with multiple books of the support for his Statue in New York. Maybe a month or what you chose. Maybe, it could be done every year. If I was in New York, I would have joined you, Nancy.

Hello Nancy
Happy new year to you.
I think that the white haired man
next to you in the photo could be Frank.
( There was a Frank there you said)
I believe in making dreams come true in
life. " Whoops there goes another rubber tree plant".
Have dinner with me please.
Is there anything nicer?.
( Don't answer that!)
Great company,
wine,
Lovely food,
Beautiful music.
A sharing of minds.
That's life as it should be lead.
Love and best wishes,
Barry.

Patsy's is the best place to eat in NYC according to my brother who visited and ate there recently. I told him he had to go there and he took his girlfriend for a special romantic meal. I said you can't go wrong with Italian food and Frank Sinatra music to set the mood for romance. :)
Thanks so much for sharing this lovely photo Nancy. Like so many fans have said I would have loved to have been there to share good food and conversation with you. The Scognamillo family look so friendly and no wonder Frank enjoyed them so much.
I just want to say at this moment how much I still miss Frank. His music, films, and concerts still bring such joy to me and I always stop and smile when I hear his music on the radio or in a store. God Bless Him.

Dot

There was a happy reunion at a party last night.
We saw Dad's assistant, right arm, girl Friday, (I
call her "the troubleshooter") Dorothy Uhlemann.
After not seeing her for a few years, it was wonderful
to find that she had not changed a bit. She is still as
vivacious and beautiful as ever.

We love you, Dot.

Good for both of you. It's always a refreshing reassurance to see someone from a past page in our lives in fine form. It gives us a sense of continuity.

It's something I may try to do soon.

I remember Dot from January of 1974. I flew from Wilkes-Barre,PA to vegas to try and see Frank with no idea how to get in. (I was 20). From my room @ the Hilton, I called and got Dot by chance on the phone. I tried to schmooze my way in and she (rightfully) tore me limb from limb! As it turned out, I made the Sinatra table on the night Tina married Wes Farrell. I sat across from Mr. & Mrs. Tony Bennett...all by just waiting around for no-shows!!!!! Luck was my lady that night!
