When Soldiers Come Home

When Soldiers come home they find it hard...

pic
...to listen to their son whine about being bored.

pic
...to keep a straight face when people complain about potholes.

pic
...to be tolerant of people who complain about the hassle of getting ready for work.

pic
...to be understanding when a co-worker complains about a bad night's sleep.

pic
...to be silent when people pray to God for a new car.

pic
...to control their panic when their spouse tells them to drive slower.

pic
...to be compassionate when someone expresses a fear of flying.

pic
...to keep from laughing when anxious parents say they're afraid to send their kids off to summer camp.

pic
...to keep from ridiculing someone who complains about hot weather.

pic
...to control their frustration when a colleague gripes about their coffee being cold.

pic
...to remain calm when their daughter complains about having to walk the dog.

pic
...to be civil to people who complain about their jobs.

pic
...to just walk away when someone says they only get two weeks of vacation a year.

pic
...to be forgiving when someone says how hard it is to have a new baby in the house.

The only thing harder than being a Soldier...

pic
...is loving one.

Pictures are truly worth a thousand words and more, one photo or 10 tell the story of sacrifice, honor and caring about each other in the war zone no matter where at any time or date on the calender. To all of our soldiers, Marines, Air Men and women and Navy personnel on station in harms wasy we pray for you each nite. From one of the few the proud and a Vietnam Veteran and Marine. god bless

It never ceases to move me to tears to know that these soldiers are risking all they hold dear (future, family, and life) for us. There is no thanks great enough to tell them what they mean for us.

Maybe they can take solace in the fact that if it weren't for their gallant efforts and sacrifices, none of us would be around to complain about potholes and cold coffee.

Each and everyone of those pictures reenforced the message on the opening page to the Forum--"Freedom is not Free". I will keep all of these brave men and women in my prayers. They all deserve our heartfelt THANKS.

I think this new item is the most moving thing i have seen in many many years. the pictures here show that our lives pale in comparsion to the brave men and women who serve in our armed forces.
our little problems cannot compare to the brave soldiers and their daily life in the service
Is it permissable to forward this to my friends who do not belong to the sinatra family forum
how is the best way to go about this

thank you

I found this quite interesting. My daughter all her union memberships because she couldn't bear to give them, So she can't vote. I will try to get her to post this on her facebook, cause some of her friends are still in unions. I see a definite NO. Theft.

As a union member (not SAG) I must agree with a "no" vote. SAG must protect the work product of its talents. People deserve to be paid as long as their work is being purchased.

Hollywood, California – April 20, 2009 – Released in 2000, Capitol/EMI’s Classic Sinatra has sold over two million copies in the U.S. alone and has been certified double platinum by the RIAA. To mark this achievement, on June 2, Capitol/EMI, in conjunction with Frank Sinatra Enterprises (FSE), will release a brand-new companion collection, Classic Sinatra II. Featuring 21 additional signature tracks, including 15 from the legendary concept albums Sinatra recorded for Capitol between 1954 and 1961, various singles, and a previously unreleased recording, Classic Sinatra II will be available on CD, at all major digital service providers, and www.sinatra.com.

Classic Sinatra II showcases a selection of Ol’ Blue Eyes’ most loved recordings from his Capitol concept albums, including “Moonlight In Vermont,” “Pennies From Heaven,” “Something’s Gotta Give,” and “All Of Me.” In addition, the set features four 1950s singles: “Love And Marriage,” “(Love Is) The Tender Trap,” “Learnin’ The Blues,” and “High Hopes.” Plus a 1956 recording of “Memories Of You” and a previously unreleased recording, “This Can’t Be Love.”

During his lifetime, Sinatra won 10 Grammy® Awards. When awarded the Grammy® Legend Award in 1994, he was introduced by U2 singer Bono, who said, "His songs are his home and he lets you in, but you know that to sing like that you've got to have lost a couple of fights. To know tenderness and romance you've got to have had your heart broken."

Sinatra appeared in 58 films and won three Academy Awards®, including an honorary Oscar® for The House I Live In. He performed thousands of tour dates around the world, starred in his own television show and numerous specials, earning Emmys® and a Peabody Award®. Sinatra was saluted by The Kennedy Center Honors (1983) as a cultural icon, and was awarded the Presidential Medal Of Honor (1985) and the Congressional Gold Medal (1995), Congress’ highest civilian award.

Born Francis Albert Sinatra on December 12, 1915, Frank Sinatra was a titan of 20th Century entertainment, with record-breaking successes in both music and film. With a legendary career spanning more than six decades, Sinatra was truly “The Entertainer of the 20th Century.” Also known as “Ol’ Blue Eyes,” “The Chairman of the Board” and “The Voice,” Sinatra has sold more than more than 150 million albums around the world, and racked up 31 gold and nine platinum albums (including three that went multi-platinum), one gold single, and two gold and platinum videos in the United States alone. He is the only artist to chart in Billboard’s Top Ten for seven consecutive decades.
